Ameriprise Financial, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliates (hereinafter "Ameriprise Financial," "we," "our" or "us") would like to provide you with the option of receiving certain documents electronically, rather than by U.S. Mail. The following terms and conditions will apply to the document type(s) that you have selected to receive via electronic delivery. In the future, you may also choose to receive other document types electronically as they become available in electronic form.
To receive documents electronically, you must register for the secure site on ameriprise.com, and consent to the terms of the Delivery Consent Agreement. Your preference to receive one or more document types electronically is indicated by selecting "Paperless" as the Document Delivery method in your Communication Preferences. Your financial advisor can, with your permission, change document delivery preferences for account statements, tax documents, financial confirmations, administrative documents, and shareholder documents. However, tax document delivery preferences can only be changed by you. There may be documents such as shareholder documents, transaction documents and/or security holdings that are not eligible or made available by the issuer or third party for electronic delivery. In these cases, such document(s) will be sent to you in paper copy via U.S. Mail.
Your consent does not mean that we must provide the documents electronically. We may, at our discretion, provide the documents through U.S. Mail.
Your consent to electronic document delivery will remain until it is revoked by you. You may revoke your consent to electronic document delivery at any time. You can initiate the process to change your consent to receive documents electronically by changing your delivery preferences in your Profile on the secure site.
You can request a non-electronic (hereinafter "paper") version of a document. This will be sent to you at no charge and can be requested by:
If you have questions or experience problems with the electronic delivery of documents, please contact us at 800.862.7919 during the hours noted above, and we’ll be happy to assist you. If you do not have the ability to access or retain pdf documents, please do not consent to electronic delivery. We are not responsible for errors or failures caused by any malfunction of your computer, browser, or software. We are also not responsible for computer viruses or related problems associated with the use of an online system.
We provide a service called "householding" where we use information concerning your primary household group’s investment, insurance and annuity products to provide a consolidated financial statement. A primary household group may consist of an individual client, his or her spouse or domestic partner, and their unmarried children who reside at the same address. If an individual member of your household group enrolls in electronic document delivery of your consolidated financial statement, we will provide notice the household has made this election and no longer send a statement by U.S. Mail. You understand that important updates to agreements and disclosures may be included in your consolidated financial statement and will be delivered electronically if a member of your household elects to have your statement delivered electronically. Please contact a client service representative at 800.862.7919, if you prefer to receive a statement covering only accounts that you own and not to participate in householding.
It is your responsibility to provide us with a valid and active email address. You agree to promptly notify us of any changes to your email address. We may periodically ask you to confirm or update your email address. If you need to update your email address or other contact information, you can:
Document delivery preference changes or revocation may not happen immediately; it could take up to several weeks before you start receiving documents by U.S. Mail. Emails returned as undeliverable may result in a suspension of electronic delivery of documents. In the event of such a suspension, paper copies of the documents will be sent to you through U.S. Mail at the last address you provided. It is your responsibility to provide us with an updated mailing address.
We will generally send you an electronic notification on the secure site and an email to the address you provided when a document is available on the secure site.
To access documents on the secure site, you will need:
To view, download, and print a PDF-formatted document, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader software or another PDF Viewer. You can download Adobe Acrobat Reader at no charge from Adobe's website.
Email notifications will be sent from ameriprisefinancial@notify.ameriprise.com or ameriprisefinancial@em.ameriprise.com. If you use spam-blocking software, please update your settings to accept email from us. If an email notification is returned to us as undeliverable, we will attempt to resend it. If the email remains "undeliverable,” we will modify your document delivery preference(s) to Mail and begin to send your document(s) via U.S. Mail. This will cancel electronic document delivery of all document types. Therefore, it is important for you to maintain a valid email address. This can be accomplished by promptly notifying us when your email address changes.
Although you will not be charged by us for the electronic delivery of a document, you may incur charges from internet service providers, telephone companies, and document printing providers. These charges are your responsibility.
By agreeing to electronic delivery, (a) you acknowledge you have read, understood and agree to the terms of this agreement, (b) you understand that you may change and customize your selections for electronic delivery at any time, and your consent is voluntary, (c) you acknowledge that you understand that certain documents and types of correspondence may continue to be delivered in paper by U.S. Mail or other means for compliance reasons, (d) you acknowledge that it is your responsibility to provide us with a valid email address and maintain minimum system requirements, (e) acknowledge that it is your responsibility to maintain sole control of your username and password, (f) you understand that we may discontinue electronic delivery of any of the above documents at any time, (g) you may withdraw your document consent at any time by changing your preferences online on the secure site. Your consent will remain in effect until revoked or rendered ineffective due to emails returned as undeliverable and a failure to update your email within our required timeframe, or until we no longer offer this service.
